This workshop
will analyze the various effects on children of having birth parents
who abuse substances. Along with the physical exposure either
in utero or in the home, there are many emotional impacts that
relate specifically to the parent’s addiction behaviors.
Whether
going back to live with substance abusing parents in recovery
or moving on to another form of permanency, children will have
lasting effects due to their exposure to substance abuse. Understanding
some of those effects and working toward minimizing negative
impacts is the major goal of this workshop.
