Rebuilding Children's Lives
This course offers a hands-on approach to foster/kinship parenting
that combines compassion with practical, outcome-oriented strategies
for teaching children how to change their behavior.
This training
teaches parents how to:
- Build
relationships with foster children/relatives' children and their
families of origin;
- Teach
children a variety of social skills that will enable them to replace
problem behaviors with pro-social behaviors;
- Meet
the needs of the child with trauma, abuse, neglect and separations
in their background;
-
Ensure
the basic rights of children and provide an emotionally safe home.
This is a series
of six sessions. Please plan to attend all sessions to get the
most out of the training.
